Sailor

- Sailor -
The final finished piece Sailor for the Animation Art Show in Dublin from the 17 - 19 Oct. Really looking forward to it, I think it's going to be a fantastic show and auction this year!

Here's some wip photos...

Ciaran made the little wooden pipe! Here's a few more pictures of the finished piece...

Sun and Moon

New version of my Sun/Moon two sided plushies, made as a (very) limited edition for three lovely babies of friends born recently. I added a loop so they can be hung up showing either sun or moon side depending on whether its time for bed :)

Only got shots with two of the plushies since one of the babies arrived a little before expected! It was nice to make these knowing already who they were going to.

On the technical side the newest challenge was making the loops nice and clean with the seams lying flat. I used some matching fabric on each side too. For the stars I used silver embroidery thread which was a fun detail, but that stuff does not behave normally. Its really slippy, like tiny metal strands!

Bombini

A special little bumble bee made for a friend. It was fun to make something so small.

Starboy 2.0

Starboy 2.0
First plush in a long time. I decided to go back and make a new version of a very early plushie from 2007. I actually still like the wonky-ness of the early one.
Now that I have all my fabric and my sowing machine with me I am hoping to make at least one plushie per month since I didn't get to make any last year.

Lrrr Plushie

This is the last commissioned plushie I made before heading off to Denmark.

I don't usually make copyrighted cartoon characters but I made this for someone who actually works on Futurama. Anyway I decided to make Lrrr since he doesn't get as much love as Bender (who is also great).

This was made with a green wool fabric and felt. I am not currently taking commissions for plushies.

Flower Faerie

This was done on commission for a friend, but it is based on a design that you can see on my art blog. The eyes were a bit of a challenge as I haven't made them like this before, but I think they turned out ok. Thank you to Ciaran too who took the pictures below!

Not selling this guy, to fond of him.

The King plushie

This is a cross post from my art blog where I started posting about the king design first.
I was looking forward to making him and I'm pleased with how he turned out. He's made from felt and some really soft red material thats a bit like velvet.
He's for sale now in my etsy and dawanda shops.

Purple Lady Plush

A purply plush, a commission for Christmas. All felt with a removable hat.

You cant really see it here but she has doc martins on, so there is flowers and yellow stitching on her boots to match them to real ones.

Spock Notch

This is a Spock plush that I made for a commission. I enjoyed making this one, and I like the way it turned out.

Made from felt and fleece.

Little Children Christmas Decorations

I made a few children Christmas decorations, they are all hand-sewn and all unique.

Check them out, along with more pictures in my siopa (shop for all the non-Irish): my Etsy one and my Dawanda one. *jingle of christmas*

Marnie Plush Portrait

This was a commish that I did recently. I based the plushie off of a photo of the lady in question. She has a bag that can be taken on or off (bottom photo) and she has a ponytail too.

Felt for pretty much everything. I really like that olive green felt.

Yellow Lemon Plush

This is a plushie I made that is a character from an animated short that I made called Colour Contamination. You can see the character peeking out in the poster here:

It's a while since I've made the film (2008!) but I still had the desire to make this design into a plushie. I think it turned out pretty faithful.

Commissioned Plush

I had a few commissions for plushies recently. One was a custom plushie made for a girl I work with called Estrela. I made a plushie version of the character design in the header of her blog. It was a nice design to adapt with a fair amount of detail.

The other commission was to make a sun and moon plush again, one of my favourites.
