Commissioned Plush

I had a few commissions for plushies recently. One was a custom plushie made for a girl I work with called Estrela. I made a plushie version of the character design in the header of her blog. It was a nice design to adapt with a fair amount of detail.

The other commission was to make a sun and moon plush again, one of my favourites.

Homemade Handmade

I finished this embroidery piece after doing it in bits and pieces for months. Its good practise for my stitching skills and also for neatness. Anyway the theme of this one is Homemade Handmade and hopefully its pretty obvious what each panel represents. One is just simple sowing thread, one is scissors and one is like knitting needles. The tools of the trade if you will.

Anyway its felt and embroidery on a linen cotton mix and its 'signed'.
(By the way I'm not putting this up on etsy, so if anyone is interested my purchasing send me an email.)

Boy in a big scarf

I embroidered this piece onto felt, then stuffed it to make a plush. Best of both worlds. It was still cold when I started this but now its warmer he probably doesn't need that big scarf..

Its in my dawanda shop now.

Materials: Embroidery floss, wool felt, wadding

Blossom Bunny

This is a little picture I embroidered on to wool felt. Its bunny, with a bird and a blossom tree. It's also an unashamedly girly picture :)

The piece is 17 x 13 cm. I think it would look lovely in a little frame, (or if not framed I could back it with another piece of felt which I will do if its requested.) Its available now in my Etsy and Dawanda shop (link on the right).

Red Riding Hood Tea Cosy

This is a special red riding hood tea cosy I made for a christmas present. Haven't had the chance to upload it till now. You are looking at two sides to the same cosy. That wolf ain't ever going to catch little red.

It was the first time making a cosy, which I found challenging. I like how it turned out though and I'm thinking of making a few more on different themes.

I made it using a linen cotton mix, fleece, felt and polyfill stuffing.

Crammed Organisms show: My Unicorns!!

These are the plushies I made for the Crammed Organisms show. [link]

They are four real life unicorns, a rhino, a stag beetle, a narwhal and a swordfish. They each have 'unicorn' embroidered on them. I wanted to do something that was a bit different and unusual, and I pretty pleased with how it turned out.

Fleece, flannel, polyfill and pipecleaners

Bun bun in a dress

This is a little girl bunny I made as part of a little series called 'bun bun'. Her fur is very very soft and she's very squeezable. Her ears have pipe cleaners in them so the're bendable.

I hand embroidered her dress with a flower and a vine and she also has a little pocket for any easter eggs she comes across.

She is made from a polyester blanket, and her dress is felt and cannot be removed. She has safety button eyes and an embroidered nose.

Now available in my dawanda shop: happy-plush-plush
